Capturing the rugged beauty of the Atlantic. This hand-painted whale in Bonavista is a tribute to the magic of the East Coast and its incredible wildlife.

In September of 2025, I visited the province of Newfoundland with my aunt and uncle. We were blown away by the landscapes and had the most wonderful time on this trip. I painted four scenes from the trip in gouache: this one is of a humpback whale diving back into the Atlantic Ocean.

Whale watching in Newfoundland was a once in a lifetime experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits. We saw whales emerge from the water from mere meters away from our little boat! Incredible.

This is a hand-painted gouache illustration, scanned, and then printed on high quality card stock.
