About

Studio Sunanda celebrates life milestones that don’t come with a gift registry.

This Toronto-based creative studio designs warm & hopeful art and stationery to help people live intentional lives with a bit of whimsy. Right now, Studio Sunanda is a one-woman show, focusing on celebrating moments otherwise missed and the other significant others in our lives.

Hello! I'm Sunanda (she/her).

In most rooms, I'm the one going "OOH, I have an idea! What if we...?" to the amusement of my collaborators, colleagues, and friends. I've always loved designing things to inspire, delight, and connect people & I'm proud and grateful that I got to spend the first part of my career as a learning experience designer. After 12 years working in the corporate world though, I was ready for a change.

As a lover of all things snail mail, I'd been making handmade cards to support my friends and family for years. But then I began to notice the number of momentous moments in the lives of my peers that kept getting overlooked, while weddings and baby showers were celebrated with pomp and circumstance.

So, after getting my Canadian permanent residency in 2025, I decided to start my own creative business and see if I could do something about it. Studio Sunanda exists to honor achievements big and small: I aim to help people live intentional lives with warmth and whimsy.

My purpose in life is to help people feel more seen and to foster greater connection between others. My hope is that Studio Sunanda can take us a few steps closer to a world that's more joyful, connected, and human.

  • Authenticity

I believe in embracing the messiness of life: not just the picture-perfect moments but all the moments in between.

  • Courage

I'm proud to speak from the heart and connect with people through every part of the human experience–from the wonderful to the woeful. It's important to me to do what is right, especially on days when it feels hard.

  • Inclusivity

This is a woman-owned small business; LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC friendly. I seek to amplify the representation of marginalized experiences through my work and inclusion is at the heart of how I work.

  • Accountability

I commit to taking responsibility for my actions and will own up to mistakes, when I make them.
