In September of 2025, I visited Newfoundland with my aunt and uncle. We were blown away by the landscapes and had the most wonderful time on this trip. I painted four scenes from the trip in gouache. This one is of a humpback whale, caught right as its tail disappears back into the Atlantic.

Whale watching in Newfoundland was a once in a lifetime experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits; we saw whales emerge from the water mere meters from our little boat. Incredible.
